Return of vinyl 5 a Day lunch boxes

You may have already heard about the return of the lunch boxes that were distributed through local Network for a Healthy California programs throughout the state. Three canvas lunch boxes showed elevated levels of lead and they are green with a logo reading EAT FRUITS & VEGETABLES AND BE ACTIVE. The Network is taking a precautionary step to request that all lunch boxes, both green and blue boxes are to be returned. At this time, all health promotion items developed by the CA Department of Public Health are being assessed. To dispose of your green or blue lunch box, please return it to the drop box at the OPT for Fit Kids office, located at 1311 B Mangrove Avenue. For more information, please visit www.scnutrition.org or call 345-2483.
