"In case you missed the ER article on extra 1998 school bond money allocations, here is a summary of the article:
To plan efficiently for change, district staff are conducting workshops to gather comments and ideas from the public. The first of three workshops was held Monday evening at Pleasant Valley High School. Next workshops are:
* Thursday (Oct. 25) from 6-8 pm in the multipurpose room at Shasta School
* Tuesday (Oct. 30) from 6-8 p.m. in the Williams Theatre at Chico High School

The board is also accepting suggestions via e-mail and the district Web site at www.cusd.chico.k12.ca.us.


Possible options for CUSD facilities include:
-- Build an elementary school on Henshaw-Guynn site
-- Purchase property in south Chico for future elementary school
-- Move programs, such as Open Structure, Academics Plus, Spanish Immersion, Gifted and Talented Education, special education, or Innovative Preschool
-- Build early college high school facility at Butte College
-- Expand career technical education facilities
-- Build classrooms to replace relocatables at Chico High School
-- Build performing arts center at Pleasant Valley High School
-- Build facility for on-line high school
